Argyle fans demonstrate in city centre

Plymouth Argyle's board of directors are the target of a peaceful protest to be carried out by hundreds of fans later.

Demonstrators will march from the town centre to Home Park in time for this afternoon's Tranmere Rovers match.

Fans say they want the board to guarantee that there's a future for the club.

Council leader Vivien Pengelly showed her support for Plymouth Argyle last week when she wrote to the chairman of the supporters trust, assuring him she would do all she can to stop its collapse.

Campaigners say it would damage the city's economy if it didn't have a football club in future.
