Argyle prepare to celebrate 125th anniversary

Plymouth Argyle's acting chairman Peter Ridsdale is urging football fans to get into the party spirit for the club's 125th anniversary.

Tomorrow marks the date of Argyle's first ever game and to celebrate the occasion, ticket prices have been slashed for their Accrington match to £12.50 for adults and £1.25 for children.

It's hoped it will be the Pilgrims' last home game in administration as a deal with Devon businessman James Brent edges closer to completion.

The city council are to discuss buying back Home Park at a cabinet meeting on Monday, which is part of Mr Brent's proposal.

Argyle's last home match saw hundreds of football fans from all over the country attending to show their support for the club during its fight for survival and the Argyle Fans' Trust hope that could be the case again this time.
