Body of Plymouth marine to be flown home

The body of a Plymouth marine killed in Afghanistan will be flown back to the UK this afternoon.

Sergeant Barry Weston of 42 Commando was killed by an improvised explosive device, while leading a patrol in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand Province.

The 40 year old had just become a father for the third time. He leaves behind his wife Joanne and their three daughters Jasmine, Poppy and Rose.

Today his body will be flown into RAF Brize Norton - the first since repatriation events moved there from RAF Lyneham near Wootton Bassett earlier this month.

His family say they're devastated by their loss and have paid tribute to a 'caring, loving husband and son, and a devoted father'.
