Bookings down at some Plymouth hotels this Easter

Bookings for the Easter weekend are down on last year at many Plymouth hotels.

Last year, the hospitality association estimates that many were around seventy per cent full, but that's down to roughly fifty per cent for this weekend.

Forward bookings for the summer are not looking too bad and hoteliers and guest house owners are hoping big events like Armed Forces week, the Diamond Jubilee and the university graduation ceremonies will also lead to a surge in bookings.

The Plymouth hospitality association blieves economic factors, the weather and concerns over a  fuel strike could be partially to blame.
