Campaigners want to save Cooperage

A group campaigning to reopen a well know live music venue in Plymouth are hoping to raise enough money to buy it at auction.

The Cooperage has been closed for several years but was put up for auction in December.

The venue was pulled from the listings for 'legal reasons' - and has this week been removed from the catalogue for the second time - it was formerly the property of jailed nightclub boss Manoucehr Bahmanzadeh.

But today local musicians will be playing at venues across Plymouth hoping to raise awareness of their ongoing campaign to 'save the cooperage'.

The group want to bid on the Cooperage at auction if it's relisted

There'll be live performances at venues including Cafe Curva, Voodoo Lounge and Number 8 throughout today to raise money for their cause.
