Devon police to join protest against review of pay and conditions

Hundreds of Devon and Cornwall Police officers who are angry about possible losses in pay are expected to march through the streets of London in protest next month.

The Winsor two review - which recommends changes to police allowances and a suspension of some pay rises - is due to be considered by the Home Secretary.

The Police Federation's also expected to ballot its members on whether or not they should have full industrial rights.

The organisation - which represents rank-and-file officers - described the review of pay and conditions is an attack on police.

By 2015, 700 officers will have gone from the force as a result of multi-million pound budget cuts.

Chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Police Federation, Nigel Rabbitts says the 121 recommendations could be extremely damaging and are an attack on the pay and conditions of police officers.
