Flying school bosses call for airport to be saved

Plymouth's flying school says it would be 'troubled' by the closure of the city's airport.

Sutton Harbour holdings announced it would be shutting the airport at the end of this year - because they've predicted losses of around a million pounds for this year.

But the flying school's a successful business - with hundreds of members on its books.

The school's currently in talks with the city council to find alternatives to Plymouth losing its airport.

Staff say many flying schools are struggling, but that business in Plymouth is relatively good.

The school is a private business.
