Ghana's Olympic team to train in Plymouth

Ghana's olympic boxers, weight lifters and athletes will arrive in Plymouth this summer to train for the London Olympics.

They will use Brickfields, Marjon and the YMCA when they visit in July - it follows the news that Lithuania and Canada's diving teams will use the Life Centre to train.

There will be Ghanaian drumming and games to celebrate around the time when the olympic torch arrives in the city in May.

Plymouth is already linked to the city of Sekondi-Takorandi and local schoolchildren have been visiting the country for some years.

The link will be looking for local host families to look after visitors for a day or to allow them to stay in their homes.
