James Brent offers fans twenty per cent stake in club

Plymouth Argyle owner James Brent says the club can still manage whether or not the fans' trust takes up his offer of a twenty per cent stake.

The offer was made at Saturday's packed fans' meeting in which Mr Brent also revealed his new board, which includes former vice chair Peter Jones.

He also discussed setting up a Green Army supervisory board, which would meet with the board on a regular basis and be made up of fans.

Mr Brent has said he felt the offer should be made to the fans' trust to invest in the club, but that they don't have to accept and have until the end of September to decide - he added that the club's finances are not dependent on it.

By the end of the week, we should also know who Carl Fletcher's new mentor will be.

The board has decided to appoint someone at Carl's request - rumours that it could be Sean O'Driscoll, the former Bournemouth boss who has advised Fletcher on a number of occasions, have not been confirmed.
