Families in Plymouth are being advised to steer clear of illegal money lenders.

A recent Yougov poll predicted a third of us would get into debt to pay for Christmas this year through the use of credit cards or overdrafts.

The public are being warned not to turn to illegal money lenders to pay off those debts, after figures show 20% of loan shark victims originally borrowed money to fund the festive season.
