More than ten million pounds of cuts could be agreed by Plymouth city council

Unions have accused Plymouth city council of not consulting enough with residents ahead of today's budget meeting.

Ten million pounds worth of cuts have been proposed for the next financial year - the budget is likely to be ratified at a meeting today.

Children's services would be cut by six hundred thousand pounds and community services by two million - that compares with cuts of more than seven million pounds to back office departments.

Unions have warned that frontline services will suffer if the correct number of administrators are not in place.
