Olympic torch route revealed

The eyes of the whole country are expected to be on Plymouth on May 19th as the Olympic torch makes its first overnight stop in the city.

Details of the torch's route have been revealed - it will travel from HMS Drake in an evening parade through Keyham and Devonport to the city centre and Hoe.

It will then stay on the Hoe overnight, where there'll be entertainment.

More of the names of local Olympic torch bearers have also been revealed - amongst them will be city council employee and TA soldier Andy Netherton who has recently served in Afghanistan, 14 year old classical singer Poppy Mills, who has raised a lot of money for charity and university lecturer Ian Sherriff who has done a lot of voluntary work with the Alzheimers society.
