One day left to have your day on Devonport incinerator

Tomorrow's the last day Plymothians can have their say on plans to build a waste incinerator at Devonport.

The city council have already given the plant planning permission - but it needs an operating permit from the environment agency to function.

MVV hope to start building in April as they only need the permit to operate the facility.

But campaigners say they'll continue to fight the plant - they say the emissions are harmful to their health and that the number of lorries passing their homes and local schools every day would be unacceptable.

The city council say there aren't any health risks and that the incinerator is needed to deal with the amount of waste we're producing.

The environment agency has been running a public consultation since December - but it comes to a close tomorrow.

Anyone who would like to have their say on the plans, can do so by emailing psc@environment-agency.gov.uk quoting the reference number EPR/WP3833FT
