Plymouth's liberal democrats apologise to voters

Plymouth's liberal democrats have admitted their plan to target key wards at this year's local elections didn't work.

The party fielded candidates in just eight wards this year, meaning that many voters simply had a choice between the Conservatives, Labour or UKIP.

In some areas, the lib dems came fourth last week.

The party says they decided to target key wards like Drake.

They failed to take any seats and apologised to any party supporters who were unable to vote for them this year.
