Police anticipating 'normal weekend' in Plymouth following riots across England

Around eighty officers from Devon and Cornwall are in Bristol and London supporting police there in the wake of this week's riots.

So far there have been no such disturbances in Plymouth, although police have visited an 11 year old girl for comments she made on a social networking site.

In Plymouth there will be around 35 extra special constables patrolling the streets tonight and tomorrow.

Superintendent Dave Sumner has said so far any attempts to encourage violence on social networking sites have been rubbished by local people.
