Roadworks hitting some Pennycomequick businesses

Work to repair sewers in the Pennycomequick area is already taking its toll on some local businesses.

South West Water say the work is essential to prevent future flooding and to stop manhole covers lifting.

In Stuart Road, the usual parking area for those visiting  the newsagents and hairdressers have been blocked off and the firms say business is already suffering.

Abultar Afdeer is the owner of Tremaine News on Stuart Road - he says business is down by around thirty to thirty-five percent because no provisions have been made for customers to stop outside.

The work there, and on Outland Road, is due to be complete by the end of March.
