Ten Tors expedition gets underway

After months of training, dozens of Plymouth youngsters are joining the Ten Tors expedition this weekend.

2400 youngsters are taking part in a 35, 45 or 55 mile trek across Dartmoor.

They have all been given lessons in navigation, safety, river crossings and first aid and must make the trip unaided by adults.

The event is run by the Army, who are on hand in case of any problems.

Pete Twyman is leading the team from Lipson community college - he says it's a great feeling when his students cross the finish line on the Sunday and a fantastic achievement for them.
