Tourism bosses hoping for good summer as Easter bookings down

Plymouth hoteliers are hoping bookings for the summer season will be up on those for Easter.

Many hotels and B and Bs in the city were only around half full and some were forced to cut prices to attract people in.

It's thought economic factors, poor weather and a fear over fuel strikes put some people off.

The Plymouth Hospitality Association says there have already been some decent bookings for the summer though.

They add that events like Armed Forces week, the Diamond Jubilee and university graduation ceremonies all help.
