Trade holding up in Plymouth

Plymouth seems to be holding its own when it comes to footfall in shops.

The latest figures show only a marginal drop off in people spending in the city over the last year of around 0.2%.

It's while towns such as Liskeard have lost four thousand daily shoppers over the last 10 years, according to data published by Cornwall Council.

Plymouth City Centre Manager Clint Jones says much of the city's success can be put down to major developments like Drake Circus.
