Work on a new link road between Plympton and Plymstock has begun.

It's the final phase of the government's £19m east end transport scheme, which began with the closure of Gdynia Way last year.

It will provide a new route between Embankment road and Laira Bridge road to try and ease traffic flow.

The city council says there will be some lane closures during the work, but that there will be far less disruption than that caused by the Gdynia way closure.
