Work to start on West Hoe apartments in April

Building work will start on a controversial apartment block at West Hoe in April.

Developers Devington Homes got planning permission for the four storey building last week.

Campaigners have expressed their disappointment at the city council's decision to let them build on the site of the former tennis courts, as they say it will block out light in the park adjacent to the site and doesn't fit in with the surrounding buildings.

Devington homes are already working on the structural design of the apartments.

They're the developers behind the Grand on the Hoe - but these apartments won't be exactly the same style as the Grand, although they will be similar sizes.
