Douglas Mounce

I was born in Cornwall and made my professional debut in 1971 as a Comedian and Impressionist at The Hoe Theatre, Plymouth with Cardew Robinson.

I went on to work in clubs, theatres and holiday camps alongside such artistes as Roy Castle, Jimmy Cricket, Alvin Stardust and The Wurzels.

I have had a career in theatre which has included the West End and regular pantomime work - I am known as one of Britain's leading Dames! - and television including Lark Rise to Candleford. But radio has always been a great love of mine with regular appearances on national and local radio.

Locally I have become known for compering the spectacular Music of the Night at the Royal Citadel and now to be a part of Radio Plymouth is a delight. On Sunday mornings, between 8 and 12 noon we play great music while also discussing what is happening in Plymouth and beyond.
